Why Figs?
Here at FigBrew we love our coffee, but we found that coffee doesn't love us back, so we set out to find something that mimicked the good aspects of coffee while leaving out the negatives.
We've settled on Figs, it checks all the right boxes and manages to negate the biggest negatives we have encountered with our coffee.

The Good Aspects Of Coffee?
Ease Of Brewing
Coffee is unique in that it can brewed in a variety of ways that each complement and pull the flavor through. Whatever we settled on had to be able to be brewed using the same equipment.
Enter Figs. When ground, you can be brew figs any way you brew coffee from drip to espresso. No need to pick up new equipment and because we grind it here you can skip the grinding step without fear flavor loss.
Rich Taste and Body
What separates a coffee from a tea? The rich flavor notes and the full body of the cup. We didn't want to lose what made coffee, coffee so whatever we settled on needed to have the body.
Fig is unique, when brewed it produced a dark full cup and when consumed it provided the body and mouth feel we have come to enjoy from coffee and even generates crema when making an espresso.
Slightly sweeter then coffee due to the natural sugars, and with a smoother experience at the end of the cup.

The Less Than Desirable Aspects?
Acidity
Coffee is acidic, this is part of its appeal however the way it affects some of us as we age becomes greater. It leaves us having to weigh the options when choosing to have another cup or for the most affected skipping it altogether.
Conveniently Figs have an alkaline affect on the body and are packed with prebiotics that promote gut health. So instead of having the pass up that second cup we can enjoy as many as we want at our leisure.
Caffeine Crashes
Its no question the reason coffee grew to be the staple it is, because of the caffeine.Starting the morning with a cup of coffee and get that boost of energy to start the day has become a norm in many households.
However, what if want to enjoy a cup mid-day or late night warm beverage? The same reason its a morning staple is also the same reason we often skip that second cup.
Figs are naturally caffeine free, however unlike coffee our grounds are derived from the fruiting body. This means while it doesn't provide that caffeine boost you still maintain the natural fructose from the fig providing a lasting energy without the crash.

Not Ready To Give Up Coffee?
Don't!
The most unique and compelling aspect of Fig is its ability to mix with coffee. Mix our grounds in any ratio with your favorite coffee before brewing and experience a smoother cup without the associated adverse affects.
What about the flavor?
Figs take on the flavor of whatever you mix it with, just smoother and with a slight added sweetness.
Won't that defeat the purpose?
Remarkably figs still manage to negate the acidic affects when mixed with coffee, and due to their caffeine free nature you can effectively cut and micro-manage your caffeine intake to the perfect level for you.
